Astellas Pharma Inc. agreed to pay as much as $1.34 billion for rights to an experimental cancer treatment from Melbourne-based Audax Biosciences that has yet to be tested in humans.
Audax will receive an upfront payment and potentially another payment if Astellas exercises its option, together worth as much as $285 million. Another $1.05 billion depends on development and commercial milestones, while Audax would also receive royalties on sales.
